Q. What do the campaigns encompass?

A. The good campaign will play out the story as seen in the movies and books, as well as a few additional levels.  This info has been taken from Wikipedia.

Campaign

In the Good campaign, players follow the main events of the films, and in the Evil campaign where players control the forces of darkness in a new storyline. In this alternative ending Frodo failed to destroy the Ring and Middle-earth is conquered by Sauron.[1][7]

  • Rivendell The player must destroy the elves in Rivendell as Sauron himself.
  • The Shire The player must burn the Shire and slaughter all of the hobbits as well as killing Gandalf playing as Sauron

Q. What classes are available for play?

A. The game uses a class-based character system, based from the original system found in the game Team Fortress. There are four playable classes:

  • Warrior: A melee combat unit which uses swordplay. Warriors can gain strength to unleash more powerful attacks, such as setting their swords on fire. They can also block and perform counter attacks with special moves. The warrior also has a throwing axe as a secondary weapon.
  • Archer: A long ranged unit with a bow and arrow that plays like a third person shooter. Different types of arrows such as fire arrows which can knock down enemies, poison arrows which slow enemies down and do damage over time, and a triple shot attack which fires a volley of three arrows at multiple enemies. They also have a close quarters attack, which knocks back the enemy.
  • Scout: A master in the art of moving unseen. The scouts primary weapons are two daggers, and he has the ability to cloak and kill units from behind. He also has satchel bombs filled with blasting powder as a ranged attack.
  • Mage: A mage's primary attack is lightning, this can be charged up for a more powerful attack. Mages can also heal allies. The staff can also be used for melee. To protect himself and others around him from ranged attacks a mage can create an orb. The mage is vulnerable to melee while this is active.
  • Hero: The hero unit is better than any other unit, it can destroy enemies with relative ease and has an arsenal of different powers than the other characters.

Q. What Heroes are available?

A. Heroes: Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, Frodo, Elrond, Eowyn, Faramir, and Isildur

Villains: The Balrog, Lurtz, The Mouth of Sauron, The 8 Nazgul, Saruman, Sauron, The Witch King, Grima Wormtongue.

Q. dwarfs?!

A. Unfortunately, there are no dwarves in this game except for Gimli.

Q. What maps are available?

A. Helm's Deep, Isengard, The Shire, Weathertop, Minas Tirith, Rivendell, Moria, The Black Gate, Mt. Doom, Minas Morgul, Osgiliath, and The Pellennor Fields.

Q. What is Multiplayer like?

A. Multiplayer mode has been critisized much for its limit on the players.  There is a maximum of 16 players and 0 AI bots.  You may play Conquest mode, Capture the Ring, Team deathmatch and Hero deathmatch.  This is a problem because some maps are massive and it is difficult to find enemies at times.
